About the Farm
Background
Ancient Oaks Homa Farm is deeply rooted in the practice of Agnihotra and Homa Therapy, which have been performed by its community for over thirty-five years. The farm is known for its commitment to growing organic fruits and vegetables and has accrued a wealth of experience in sustainable living. The farm is situated on 28 acres of land, featuring a clear running stream, Highlander cows, and 300-year-old oak trees that create a peaceful and harmonious environment.
Practices
The farm employs Homa Therapy farming, an ancient Vedic science that purifies and nourishes the atmosphere through Ayurvedic healing fires. They practice no-till and low-till techniques to support soil health and plant vitality. The farm uses organic methods, including chemical-free cultivation, organically approved fertilizers, composts, manure, and cover crops. Crop rotation is carefully managed to minimize pest and disease damage.
The Rest
Ancient Oaks Homa Farm offers a CSA program where members can purchase half or full shares of produce, receiving a variety of vegetables each week from June to October. The farm also aims to be an educational center, offering workshops in self-development, meditation, and healthful living, as well as classes in sound therapy, yoga, music, and dance. The farm is one of the first in the U.S. to offer HomaGrown produce, and it emphasizes the importance of community involvement and the interconnectedness of farming practices, ecology, and human health.
