Anchor Run CSA

Cooperation among local citizens led to the preservation of precious farmland and the birth of Anchor Run CSA. Known for its commitment to providing fresh, local, and seasonal produce, the farm has become a trusted source of organic food for its community. Shares for the 2024 growing season are already sold out, indicating the high demand and trust in their produce.

The farming philosophy centers around a deep commitment to improving the land. Integral practices include crop rotation, cover cropping, organic mineral amendments, compost applications, and responsible tillage to encourage soil health. A portion of the farm is maintained as pollinator habitat to support beneficial insects and birds, which are crucial since no pesticides are used. This holistic approach ensures the production of clean, nutrient-dense, and delicious food while positively impacting the environment.

The farm offers a 26-week Main Season from May through November, a 6-week Late Fall season from November through December, and a Winter season from January through February. CSA share sizes include Full, Medium, and Half, with three pick-up day options. Members receive weekly electronic newsletters during the growing season, and the farm hosts potlucks and workshifts.
