About the Farm
Background
Established in 1919, this 5th generation family farm in central lower Michigan has evolved from a dairy operation to raising beef cattle, pigs, turkeys, chickens, and sheep. Initially focused on commonly available livestock, the farm shifted to heritage breeds to reduce grain consumption and labor while preserving endangered livestock breeds.
Practices
The farm employs 'old style' methods, allowing animals to forage naturally on pasture. All livestock are free-range and humanely raised without the use of grain, hormones, or medicated feed. The focus on heritage breeds ensures healthier food production and supports the survival of rare breeds.
The Rest
Conveniently located south of Perry off of M-52 between I-69 and I-96, the farm is easily accessible from mid-Michigan. By breeding and selling only the best quality breeding stock, the farm contributes to the preservation and thriving of rare livestock breeds for future generations.
