About the Farm
Background
Ranching since 1946, Albaugh Ranch has been a cornerstone of the Fallon, NV community, specializing in Native Shorthorn cattle and Dorper Hair sheep. Known for their high-quality beef and lamb, the ranch has built a reputation for producing meat that is both tender and flavorful.
Practices
The cattle and sheep graze on irrigated pastures of alfalfa and native forages, with hay provided during the winter months. The animals are raised without artificial hormones or antibiotics, adhering to natural methods. The Shorthorn cattle, part of the 'Native Program,' can be traced back to the 1820s through the original herd books of the American Shorthorn Association.
The Rest
In addition to beef and lamb, the ranch offers semen for sale to those interested in enhancing the genetics of their Shorthorn herds. Customer testimonials are available on their website.
