About the Farm

Background

Aberdeen Mills has existed since 1770, originally operating as a mill until the 1960s and producing various crops and animals over the years. The farm now spans almost 40 acres and includes two sandstone homes, a grist mill, a studio, a shepherd’s hut, an animal barn, and a bank barn.

Practices

The farm manages its garden organically and raises animals naturally, allowing them to roam or laze about on pasture every day. The strawberries are grown vertically, hydroponically, and are pesticide-free. As knowledge and experience grow, the farming methods evolve.

The Rest

Aberdeen Mills offers farm and mill tours for schools and community groups, and provides farm stay experiences along the beautiful Conewago Creek. The farm also sells farm-fresh eggs, which can be purchased by visiting the farm or ordering online for curbside pickup.
