About the Farm

Background

A•Y•RAAM Farms LLC was started in 2007 as a small family business. The farm's name is an acronym for Aaron, Yitzchak, Rachel, Abigail, Ana, and Moriah, representing the names of the founder's father-in-law and all his wife's siblings. Seth and Rachel Armstrong now manage the farm while raising their own family. Over the years, they have also become known for breeding Australian Shepherds, meeting many great people who have adopted their puppies.

Practices

The farm is not currently certified organic but uses OMRI-certified inputs for fertilizers and pesticides, which are standard for organic growers. Their long-term goal is to adopt Veganic farming practices, which involve growing organically without using animal by-products such as manure, bone meal, blood meal, hoof meal, and feather meal. They believe that Veganic farming is the most sustainable way to grow.

The Rest

The farm produces a wide range of vegetables including swiss chard, potatoes, beets, carrots, kale, micro greens, onions, sweet and spicy peppers, eggplant, winter squash, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, zucchini, salad mix, collard greens, cucumbers, and yellow squash. Additionally, they have been breeding Australian Shepherds for over 14 years, providing joy to many families who have adopted their puppies. The farm values love, integrity, and respect, which they strive to reflect in their treatment of both their dogs and customers.
