About the Farm
Background
Since 1968, the Kubitschek family has owned and operated 7 Springs Farm, dedicated to creating a permanent home for retired horses. The farm has remained a steadfast commitment for the family, ensuring that it will always be a sanctuary for horses in their later years.
Practices
The farm offers large pastures free of rocks, natural streams, and spring-fed ponds, providing an ideal environment for horses to graze and roam. The moderate climate, with less extreme temperatures compared to other regions, ensures comfort year-round. The Kubitscheks also raise AWA-approved Angus cattle, using pasture rotation techniques to maximize natural grass growth and avoid pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Their cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished, contributing to a healthy omega-3 to omega-6 ratio in the beef.
The Rest
7 Springs Farm spans 640 acres, featuring multiple natural springs, extensive pastures, and specialized care for each horse. They offer custom feed mixes for horses with dental issues and provide regular updates to owners through photos and videos. The farm also produces its own grass and alfalfa hay, ensuring high-quality feed for the horses. Additionally, the farm's Green Beef CSA offers grass-fed beef to the local community, emphasizing sustainable and humane farming practices.
