About the Farm
Background
Located five miles from downtown Hillsborough, NC, the farm was started in 2005 and began selling produce in 2009 after four years of building soil with cover crops and compost. Known for its commitment to quality, the farm sells its produce and value-added products at various local farmers' markets, including the Western Wake Farmers' Market, Eno River Farmers' Market, and South Durham Farmers' Market.
Practices
The farm employs biointensive and sustainable practices on its 10-acre property, with 2 acres in active production. No synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides are used. The focus is on hand-tending crops to ensure exceptional flavor and nutritional quality, utilizing organic methods and season extension techniques to grow a variety of vegetables and herbs year-round.
The Rest
In addition to fresh produce, the farm pickles and ferments some of its harvest, offering these value-added products at local farmers' markets. The farm emphasizes great customer service and competitive pricing while maintaining a small-scale operation to ensure the best quality.
