About the Farm
Background
The Glory Farm is transforming a run-down ranch into a vibrant community hub. Committed to community service, the farm aims to provide a safe, fun, and educational space for day activities and to integrate with neighboring housing developments as an agri-hood.
Practices
Utilizing Permaculture Design Methods, the farm is working towards biodynamic and organic certification. Buildings and structures are intended to be Lead Green Certified. The farm emphasizes stewardship over ownership, focusing on heritage breeds and ancient grains. Organic food production is prioritized, though animal health takes precedence over strict organic adherence when necessary. The farm also promotes natural homesteading skills and survivalist techniques.
The Rest
The farm hosts a variety of animals including rabbits, sheep, goats, alpacas, horses, dogs, and cats, with plans to add Brown Swiss Cows. Internships and WOOFERS are encouraged to join and learn. Activities such as spinning, candle making, basketry, pottery, weaving, knitting, and crochet are offered, along with survivalist skills like arrowhead and bow making, and natural structure assembly. The farm is also exploring the craft of birch bark canoe making.
