About the Farm
Background
In 2013, the journey began with a focus on real food after their son Ty started experiencing allergic reactions. To avoid weekly allergy shots, Kayla researched food-based healing, leading to a diet change to mostly organic foods. By 2020, they expanded their commitment by purchasing 12 laying hens, which marked the start of raising their own food. Today, they raise all the eggs, poultry, and pork they consume, sharing their produce with the community.
Practices
The farm operates on 20 acres, embracing permaculture principles to create a sustainable and self-sufficient ecosystem. They prioritize pasture raising their animals, allowing chickens and poultry to roam freely, which contributes to healthier soil and better-quality produce. Their approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of animal welfare, land stewardship, and community health.
The Rest
The farm is a family endeavor, aiming to build a multi-generational legacy that serves the community and aligns with their spiritual values. They invite others to follow their journey as they expand their farm, add more animals, and continue to develop their permaculture paradise.
