About the Farm
Background
Operating since 1787, the farm has a long history of dairy farming and has been welcoming guests since 1984 as Vermont's first certified Green Agritourism Enterprise. The Kennett family, including Bob, Beth, their son David, daughter-in-law Asia, and their grandchildren, have been stewards of this legacy, sharing their farm life with visitors from around the world.
Practices
The farm emphasizes sustainable living and heartfelt hospitality, sourcing maple syrup, vegetables, eggs, and fruit from local neighbors. They are part of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, which supports local economies by producing butter, cheese, and yogurt from their milk. The farm also practices land conservancy and promotes sustainability through their involvement in the VT Fresh Network and Cabot's Sustainability program.
The Rest
Guests can enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, cross-country skiing, trout fishing, and tubing on the White River. The farm offers seven guest rooms and four shared baths, with every meal featuring fresh, local Vermont produce. Visitors can participate in farm chores, watch the milking process, or help feed baby calves. The farm is recognized as a Green Hotel by the Vermont Green Hotel program and offers a cozy retreat with an immersive farm experience.
