About the Farm

Background

Founded in 2010 by Bobby Ray Holmes and Mary Kimerling, Holmestead Farm began after years of preparation to ready the land and property for farming. The farm is known for producing some of the best blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, muscadines, and scuppernongs in the region.

Practices

Holmestead Farm employs pesticide-free farming practices, ensuring that all their fruits and produce are grown without the use of harmful chemicals. The farm features 850 blueberry plants, 1500 thorn-less blackberry plants in three varieties, 500 raspberry plants, and hundreds of muscadine and scuppernong vines.

The Rest

Visitors to Holmestead Farm can enjoy picking their own fruits or purchasing them from the fruit and berry shed. The farm also offers fresh seasonal produce and fruits throughout the year. Additionally, guests are encouraged to explore the nature trails, play horseshoes, or simply relax and take in the scenic beauty of the foothills of the Talladega National Forest and Mt. Cheaha.
