About the Farm

Background

Brian and Justine Denison, along with their children Suzanna and Maggie, have been farming in New York State for twelve years after moving from Maine, where they grew over 100 acres of mixed vegetables for 16 years. The farm, now located in Schaghticoke, NY, spans 164 acres and includes rich bottomland, wooded ridges, pasture/hayfields, marsh, and streams. It is known for being the home of the first CSA in New York state, a legacy started by their predecessor, Janet Britt.

Practices

The farm adheres to USDA Certified Organic standards, certified by PCO. Their farming philosophy emphasizes organic management, which has been practiced on the land for over three decades. This includes a commitment to maintaining the health of the soil and ecosystem through organic farming methods.

The Rest

The farm is currently hiring for full and part-time positions involving planting, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing organic vegetables. They offer a weekly newsletter with farm updates, recipes, and information about the benefits of the local food movement and being a CSA member.
