About the Farm
Background
Known for their big, sweet blueberries, this farm is located in central Wisconsin and has become a popular destination for blueberry enthusiasts. The farm boasts over 14,000 highbush blueberry plants with more than eight different varieties. The bushes, which will average 5 to 8 feet tall once fully grown, have been a staple of the farm's offerings for years.
Practices
The blueberry bushes are planted in raised beds enriched with organic soil matter, promoting healthy growth. Daily examinations for pests and diseases ensure that chemicals are used sparingly and only when absolutely necessary. The farm maintains a well-kept environment with mowed grass between the rows, enhancing both the health of the plants and the experience for visitors.
The Rest
The picking season typically begins in mid-July and lasts through the end of August, possibly extending into early September. The farm provides amenities such as porta-potties, a hand wash station, and ample parking. Buckets are available for picking, though visitors are welcome to bring their own. Pre-picked blueberries are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. For the latest picking dates and times, visitors are encouraged to check the farm's Facebook page or call directly.
