About the Farm
Background
Since 1978, this family-owned and operated farm has been a local staple, offering a variety of pick-your-own produce including vegetables, strawberries, and raspberries. Known for their extra-sweet bi-color and white corn, the farm has expanded its offerings over the years to include truckloads of local fruit and tomatoes during late summer, as well as educational tours and a large u-pick pumpkin field in October. In 2009, they began offering u-cut Christmas trees, further cementing their role as a year-round destination for families.
Practices
The farm emphasizes hands-on, pick-your-own experiences, allowing visitors to engage directly with the land and the food they consume. This approach not only fosters a deeper connection between people and their food but also supports the local ecosystem by encouraging diverse plantings and seasonal rotations. The farm's commitment to providing fresh, locally-grown produce helps to sustain the agricultural heritage of the region.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of seasonal activities, including free hayrides and a popcorn maze on weekends in October. Visitors can also enjoy locally made gifts such as wreaths, handmade caramels, toffees, soaps, lotions, and locally roasted coffee. During the Christmas season, the farm provides pre-cut trees, twine for securing trees to vehicles, and assistance from staff. Additionally, the farm sells pumpkin donuts, free cider and cocoa for kids, pretzels, cookies, caramel drizzle popcorn, and a bean soup mix. Local honey produced by bees on the farm is also available for purchase.
