About the Farm

Background

Blue Barrel Farm began as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) venture in 2010 by Pam Erthal with a goal to supply people in the Fort Collins area with seasonal produce. With over 30 years of experience in growing fruits and vegetables organically, the farm has become known for its commitment to providing fresh, local produce. The CSA offers a set number of various sized shares for each growing season, with sign-ups beginning in winter.

Practices

Blue Barrel Farm employs organic farming methods, including the use of no herbicides or pesticides, crop rotation, and vermicomposting. These practices ensure that the produce is grown in a way that maintains soil health and promotes ecological balance.

The Rest

Harvests begin in late spring and last until early fall. Shares can be picked up at the farm on Mondays or Thursdays from 9 am onward. The farm offers two sizes of shares for weekly or biweekly pickup, either at the farm or a south Fort Collins location. For more information or to sign up, visit their website or contact them via email.
