About the Farm

Background

Located in Southold, NY, this farm has garnered national recognition for its Strawberry Jam and Red Raspberry Jam, both of which won a 2020 Good Food Award. The jams are handcrafted in small batches, using a slow-cooking process without commercial pectin to ensure a deep, jammy flavor. The farm's jam production is limited to the fruit they grow, and they consistently sell out each year.

Practices

The farm follows organic growing principles and is designed with the understanding that native pollinators are more effective than honey bees. They maintain grassland and natural areas for native pollinators, ensure multiple flower species bloom throughout the growing season, and turn off lights at night to support moth pollination. Additionally, they plant multiple cover crops annually to nourish the soil and have ceased keeping honey bee hives.

The Rest

The farm shares a retail space with the award-winning winery Coffee Pot Cellars in Cutchogue, NY. They encourage visitors to shop online or visit their store. The farm's commitment to native pollinators and organic practices is central to their philosophy, aiming to increase berry yields and promote mason bee ranching.
