Join our practical, in-person workshop that will help you transform your landscape into a flourishing native wildflower oasis! We’ll cover site prep -- clearing weeds and turf. Learn important planting techniques (for seeds, plugs, potted plants, etc.) alongside essentials like spacing and watering routines. Our "success-first" approach ensures a beautiful, established garden within a few seasons. Join us and watch your vision take root!

  • What are the best techniques for clearing weeds and other invasive species and turf grass?
  • What's the proper ways to plant (my seeds, plugs, potted plants, etc.)?
  • What are the best practices for spacing, grouping, and initial watering?
  • How long will it take to have a thriving garden?

About the Class Instructor

Jim Hawk is a longtime community advocate and educator who is following his passion for gardening with native plants and trees. Over the past 20 years, his love and relationship with natives has grown and today he is the Project Director for shortmeadow37206. He is working to establish an urban native wildflower sanctuary in the heart of East Nashville and helping residents across the metropolitan area cultivate their own native wildflower sanctuaries. In addition to teaching classes, Jim also offers native garden consulting and coaching.
