Plant to Medicine Workshop with Reclamation Herb Farm

About the Event
About this Event
Join Michelle Hughes, Glynwood Director of Regional Food Programs, for an afternoon of herbal medicine making and walk through our pick-your-own garden with an herbalist's lens. You'll engage all of your senses to experience some of the plant allies that are at their peak for harvesting in summer--yarrow, St. John's Wort, lemon balm, the bitter mints, and others. You'll learn how to prepare plant medicines for use all year, including considerations for working with herbs in a variety of preparations such as teas, tinctures, glycerites, infused oils, and salves. The workshop will include a hands-on tincture-making demonstration, and you'll take home a jar of your own homemade tincture and the knowledge to continue to make medicine from Glynwood's garden and beyond.
