About the Event

The Eco-Friendly Garden Tour is a public education program that promotes sustainable landscaping by showcasing sustainable CA gardens.

On Saturday, May 9, visit Home Ground Habitats Nursery for our demonstration garden, educational tabling event, and CA native seeds & plant sale!

Home Ground Habitats is excited to be on the list of sustainable gardens to tour in this year's 2026 Eco-Friendly Garden Tour! This free community event is organized and sponsored by the Marin/Sonoma Water Saving Partnership, allowing the public to go on self-guided tours to visit gardens from Windsor to Corte Madera. Home Ground Habitats (HGH) is a native plant nursery, demonstration garden, and education center located in Indian Valley, Novato, CA. As a community-centered non-profit, we focus on environmental education, California native plant propagation, and ethical land stewardship on nearly one acre of land. The demonstration gardens at Home Ground showcase a sustainable, organic approach to creating a truly California-friendly landscape using native plants and drought-tolerant Mediterranean species to increase biodiversity. At Home Ground, we have native plant experts who can help anyone find the right plants to create a wildlife habitat garden in their own backyard. Our mission is to bring the natural world, pollinators, and wildlife to a landscape that also provides sustenance for humans.

Not only get inspired as you walk along our garden paths but learn more from our community partners and professionals during our educational tabling event from 10am-4pm. We will hold a plant sale during event hours where California native wildflower seeds and habitat plants will also be available for purchase.

Expect to see tabling from amazing local environmental partners: CA Bluebird Recovery Program, Happy Bat Solutions, Marin Master Gardeners, Marin Monarch Working Group, Museum of the American Indian, North Marin Water District, Project Wingspan/Pollinator Partnership, local basketry weaver, Charlie Kennard, and more! If you are interested in tabling at Home Ground Habitats for this event or have any questions, please contact Ayano, ayano@homegroundhabitats.org.

We hope to see you in the garden with the butterflies and bees.
