History Cruise and Walking Tour: Big Island
About the Event
Experience the unique and varied history of Lake Minnetonka’s Big Island by lake and land. We’ll enjoy box lunches as we cruise from Excelsior to Big Island on Wayzata Bay Charters' Her Excellency. Then walk with us as we hear the history of the island’s Native people, early settlers, Big Island Park, Big Island Game Farm and Big Island Veterans Camp from local historians. Finish your lunch and enjoy soft drinks and spirits available for purchase on board as we cruise back to Excelsior.

Weather: Her Excellency goes out rain or shine. If weather is severe, it is at the Captain’s discretion whether the leave the dock or return early as a safety measure.
Boarding Her Excellency: Boarding begins at 10:45 and the boat departs promptly at 11:00 am. Board at Port of Excelsior, 2 Water Street, Excelsior, Public Dock A, Wayzata Bay Charters, Her Excellency.
Parking: Metered on-street parking and free surface parking lots are available in downtown Excelsior. Parking can be limited so please allow plenty of time to find a spot.
