About the Event

Community event with farm-centered friendly competitions, games, free play, a silent auction, live music, dancing, and a pig roast.

Made possible with generous support from American Farmland Trust, Kent Ballow, Cove Creek Farm, Grace Frank Group, Hungry for Community, Lupi's Pizza Pies, Niedlov's Bakery and Cafe, Patagonia Nashville, Sequatchie Cove Farm, Stewards Unlimited, The Land Trust for Tennessee, The South Cumberland Regional Land Trust and Jumpoff Community Land Trust, Calliope, Lodge Cast Iron, the Marugg Company, Rooted Here / the South Cumberland Farmers Market, Sequatchie Cove Creamery, Spice Trail, and Summer Fields.

Southeast TN Young Farmers Coalition is celebrating their 5th year of building a supportive community for young and beginning farmers. We know that farming is much more effective when it is part of a community collaboration but for many of us this leaves a deep competitiveness buried within - we must release it!

Join us for our second ever FARM OLYMPICS at Cove Creek Farm in Monteagle where we will compete for the Farm Olympics Cup, spread awareness about the serious challenges that young farmers face, and raise money to help our chapter address those issues. Attendees may participate in, or simply watch, a variety of farm-related sporting events, such as the famous American Farmland Trust Obstacles to Land Access race or the Sequatchie Cove Farm Multi-generational egg toss. New this year, we are also debuting an actual (yet to be claimed by a sponsor) strong man hay bale toss, and a circus arts inspired egg juggling competition. There will also be expanded kids events!

If you're ready to compete, please click this link (and also get a ticket) and make sure you show up by 2pm!

If organized competitions aren't your thing, Cove Creek Farm also has a ton of free play options for kids of all ages! After the Olympic games there will be a Pig Roast picnic featuring the best ingredients of our region (a true farm to table feast), a silent auction fundraiser (online pre-bidding available June 1-7) and live music and dancing featuring fiddling Bob Townsend.

Young Farmers Members get half price admissions (youngfarmers.org to become a member, then email setnyf@gmail.com with your receipt to get a discount code) and we have a limited number of free volunteer tickets because we need race timers and food servers too !

Please bring sunscreen and hats, bug spray, water bottles, lawn chairs and blankets!
