An afternoon of tradition and celebratory performance art and music and a sugar skull workshop for the whole family.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Calaveritas de Azucar | Sugar Skull Station Workshop

Calaveritas are decorated ofrendas in honor of a loved one who has passed. A Calaverita, or sugar skull, is a decorative skull made of sugar; Alfeniques.

Families create ofrendas (Offerings) to honor their family members and friends who have passed. These offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their food, and join in the celebration of their life.

*THIS IS A FREE ALL-AGES COMMUNITY EVENT

*THE SUGAR SKULL WORKSHOP WITH FACEPAINTING IS $15 AND WILL BE HELD AT THE LIMELIGHT GALLERY AND STUDIO JUST BEHIND THE BEER GARDEN.

Grab a chair, kick back, watch the world go by, or play games like giant Jenga, cornhole, and hula hoops.
