About the Event

Join us on Saturday, May 25th at 6pm for an exclusive cider tasting with Echodale Farm (LLC) of South Albany, Vermont!

Echodale Farm will be offering two ciders, Harvest 2023 Blend One, and Harvest 2023 Blend Two, both of which are a mix of 40 different varieties of apples grown in South Albany, from trees they planted themselves nearly 10 years ago! It’s a permaculture orchard, so there’s some 110 varieties of fruit overall, nitrogen fixers (e.g., black or honey locust) and lots of other diversity (elderberries, serviceberry, juneberry, etc.), as well as a lower canopy of diverse plants (comfrey, st. Johns wort, equisetum, tons of wildflowers, medicinal herbs, etc.). The orchard uses only local inputs (manure and whey from Sweet Rowen Farmstead up the road from them), no synthetic fertilizers or chemicals. Ultimately the goal will be to ferment using wild yeast only, but right now they add champagne yeast at pressing, which is the only input at the ciderhouse. Cider sits in stainless steel tanks for six or more months, and then is bottled, sits another six weeks, and then brought out! Please join us in welcoming Echodale Farm to the Parker Pie, and in enjoying their local, craft cider!
