We’ll walk the perimeter trail which is around 2.5 miles and takes about an hour to walk, but leave time for shopping at the farm store!

Brooksby is a historic farm dating back to 1636, when 48 year old Eleanor Felton, a widow, arrived from England and bought the land. The Feltons owned the farm for 266 years. The city of Peabody was able to acquire the farm for a significantly lower price than developers were offering, which is a credit both to the city and the heirs. In addition to a large working apple orchard, there is a mostly forested perimeter trail. Brooksby Farm is located on a hill with great views of Danvers to the north. You don't have to spend a penny to enjoy a day at Brooksby, there is even a small animal farm with goats, chickens, sheep, and other animals. The produce isn't inexpensive, but the cider and apples are superb. Every time I go I'm grateful for this historic place that could easily have become a condo development like "Brooksby Village".
