This is a unique opportunity to gather your own Texas Bluebonnet seeds directly from our fields, right after the pods have ripened and just before they shatter.
Details:
- Date: Saturday, May 18th
- Time: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Location: Walker Honey Farm, 8060 E US HWY 190 Rogers, TX 76569
Whether you're a gardening enthusiast looking to cultivate your own wildflower meadow, enhance your present one, or you simply want to experience the beauty of these native Texas flowers up close, this event is perfect for you.
A few tips for harvesting:
- Wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and gloves.
- Bring a small bag to collect your seeds–paper sack works best.
- Please limit your personal haul to about 1/4 lb.
This is a FREE family-friendly event! No ticket needed. We would love to have you post a picture of your seed haul on social media, mention us and use #WalkerHoneyFarm and #BluebonnetHarvest.
Safety Notice: While encounters are rare, please be aware that there might be snakes in the fields.
What to do with your seeds?
- Scatter seeds on the ground immediately after collecting.
- Sow immediately on the surface or 1-2 inches of soil or mulch cover at most.
- Germination will happen as early as August and as late as November.

*For best look next Spring*
Bluebonnets will start blooming in Central Texas around March 7 on average. Mow the area on March 1st to reduce competition from grasses and weeds and to enhance the beauty of your bluebonnets.
We look forward to seeing you at the farm and sharing the joy of harvesting with our community!
