Guided Search
We want to continue to provide the best search experience for users to discover small farms and local food events in their community. Our new Guided Search feature brings all the rich search capabilities found in the discovery page to the search bar! Now, rather than searching based on a single criteria, users can search for farms and events using a combination of 200+ products and 50+ tags (e.g. organic, csa, non-gmo, etc).
Dynamic Discovery Pages + Smart URLs
Discovery pages allow users to view farms and events in an interactive map display. Along with some major updates to the overall layout of the page, we now feature suggested filters for any given location. These suggested filters are based on the most commonly shared tags for farms in each region.
Additionally, users will notice that discovery page URLs are not only dynamic (based on where the map is positioned) but also human-readable (rather than just a bunch of gibberish). We call these Smart URLs and we believe they will help with sharing URLs based on searches you created with your friends.

Growing and Gathering in San Diego
RootSeller was featured at the second annual Grow + Gather event that took place last Sunday at San Diego’s Air and Space Museum. The event included 400+ attendees, all of whom were fellow farmers and gardeners. We met some wonderful people, gave out tomato and cucumber starts, and raffled-off a few of our favorite books for people who signed-up for RootSeller. This was our first event and we can’t wait to do more (our next event is at EcoFest on June 2nd).
