Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center

In 2005, Brooklyn Rescue Mission established partnerships with New York City environmental and food justice organizations to transform an abandoned lot into a thriving urban farm. Once a neighborhood garbage dump, the site has since become an urban oasis serving several hundred people and acting as a community gathering space.

The farm focuses on growing fruits and vegetables in an urban setting, utilizing the space to educate neighborhood youth about food growing and community service.

A farmer's market operates during the summer season, providing fresh produce to the community.
