About the Farm
Background
Located 35 miles north of Nashville, this farm has recently been placed in a land trust to ensure it will be available for farming by future generations.
Practices
The farm raises USDA certified organic grains including yellow corn, soybeans, soft red winter wheat, barley, buckwheat, and hay, with some open-pollinated corn varieties. Chickens live in a mobile coop that is rotated through pastures, allowing them to range freely and consume grasses and insects along with organic grains. British White and Scottish Highland cattle, as well as Katahdin sheep, are grass-fed and rotated frequently on certified organic pastures. No hormones, antibiotics, or routine worming are used on the animals.
The Rest
The farm supplies grains in bulk or in fifty-pound bags, and offers a variety of beef cuts, as well as lamb chops, lamb sausage, and ground meat.
