About the Farm
Background
The farm began in 1995 when a large garden produced more food than the family could consume, leading to door-to-door sales. Over the years, it expanded to 15 acres in production, growing over 100 varieties of vegetables and flowers year-round. The owners, Cory and Shanti, found their love for farming through different paths and have built a dedicated team of employees, interns, and volunteers to help manage the farm.
Practices
The farm operates with a strong focus on the health of the land and the people who interact with it. They avoid synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides, instead employing cover cropping, crop rotation, beneficial insects, and crop diversity to create a thriving farm ecosystem. The goal is to constantly improve the soil and biological communities, adapting to the challenging climate through continuous learning.
The Rest
The farm sells produce and flowers at farmers markets, through CSA boxes, at an honor-system farm stand, and to natural food stores, restaurants, and florists throughout Arizona. Although not open to the public for regular tours, they offer a self-serve farm store at the entrance and encourage signing up for their newsletter for updates and future events. The farm also values community connection, aiming to bring people closer to the agricultural process.
