About the Farm
Background
Open year-round, the farm is known for its multicolored hand-dyed yarns and fleeces, and offers a variety of classes in spinning, knitting, weaving, and felting. The farm also features a lavish Colonial and Victorian Christmas decoration and hosts special events at Barre Town Hall. It is a popular stop during the famous Backroads Tour on Columbus Day weekend and participates in area artisan exhibits and wool festivals.
Practices
The farm focuses on the production of high-quality fibers from sheep and angora rabbits. They demonstrate and teach traditional fiber arts such as spinning, knitting, weaving, and felting. Angora rabbits are groomed and sheared with care, and their wool is spun into luxurious yarns.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy feeding baby lambs by bottle during the appropriate season and explore a small animal petting zoo. Nearby attractions include Barre Falls Dam & Park, Cradle Rock Park, Cook's Canyon Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Quabbin scenic reservoir.
