About the Farm
Background
Josh and Rebekah May, native Nevadans, married in 2006 and purchased their property in Stagecoach, Nevada later that year. They began with dairy goats in 2008 to avoid industrial dairy practices and soon expanded to raising pigs due to the lack of humanely and sustainably grown pork. Their high-quality pork quickly gained attention, leading to requests from friends and local restaurants. Over the years, they have grown their operation to raise approximately ten pigs annually.
Practices
The farm emphasizes humane and sustainable animal husbandry, avoiding antibiotics, hormones, and industrial farming practices. They personally oversee the entire process from raising to slaughter, ensuring the highest quality of life for their animals. Their farming philosophy extends to their own consumption, sourcing local and sustainably grown beef, lamb, and chicken.
The Rest
In addition to pigs, the farm keeps dairy goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and children, and grows produce for their family's use. Their pork is sought after by local restaurants such as Adele's, 4th St. Bistro, and Campo.
