About the Farm

Background

Founded in 2014, Studio Herbage has become known for its locally and USA grown flowers, catering to events, parties, and galas throughout the Northeast. The studio is led by James Dempsey, one of only 21 AIFD professionally Certified Floral Designers in New York State.

Practices

Botanicals are grown on approximately 5 acres of pristine farmland at the foothills of the Adirondack Park. The farm emphasizes hands-on learning through internships, focusing on the propagation, marketing, designing, and selling of cut flowers, herbs, perennials, and shrubs. The farm's staff is professional and knowledgeable, ensuring that each plant is cared for meticulously.

The Rest

Visitors can arrange for farm tours during the growing season, led by James Dempsey. The studio also offers custom botanical art, floral objects, and containers using time-honored handcraft techniques. Their retail store in Johnstown, NY, and various other retail establishments, stock a curated selection of unique plants, flowers, and botanical curiosities.
