About the Farm
Background
Milan and Emilie Young founded the farm in 2007 with the dream of creating a viable farm on their 100 acres. They moved to New England for a few years but eventually returned to their Oregon farm, focusing on organic hemp products under the brand Oregon Organics.
Practices
The farm raises traditional White Cornish X chickens, slow-growing them by limiting feed intake and allowing them over 50% more time to develop compared to conventional chickens. The birds are fed organic feed and whole grains, and have ample space to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. A limited number of Bourbon Red turkeys are also raised for Thanksgiving. The farm emphasizes humane treatment, with on-site butchering to eliminate transportation stress and humane slaughter methods.
The Rest
The farm is also involved in the burgeoning hemp industry, producing organic hemp products under the brand Oregon Organics. They have a history of opening the farm for events and may continue to do so.
