About the Farm

Background

In 1989, the family moved to Chico, California, to pursue their passion for water skiing, building their house on a man-made ski lake surrounded by almond, walnut, and olive orchards. Intrigued by the health benefits of pomegranates, they planted their orchard in 2006 on 20 acres behind their home. By October 2009, after harvesting over 150,000 pomegranates, they began making pomegranate products to extend the enjoyment of the fruit beyond its short fresh market season.

Practices

The orchard is family-owned and operated, emphasizing the use of fresh squeezed pomegranate juice to create a variety of products. The family’s approach is rooted in their appreciation for the unique qualities of pomegranates, including their tenderizing properties and health benefits.

Their products, including fruit spreads, grenadine, syrup, and the popular Balsamic Grill Sauce, can be found at the Saturday farmers markets in Chico and local stores listed on their website. The family is also a proud supporter of the Buy Fresh Buy Local initiative.
