Ryan Family Farm

Erica and Ed Ryan operate a 10-acre farmstead in rural Pierce County, Washington. They are known for raising heritage breed poultry, vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The farm often has eggs and birds for sale, although they do not have a farm stand and can be reached via social media.

The farm follows organic standards and practices, even though they are not currently certified organic or certified humane. They feed their chickens non-GMO, organic feed from Scratch and Peck feeds in Bellingham, WA. The farm is committed to preserving heirloom and open-pollinated seeds, purchasing from reputable vendors like Johnny's Selected Seeds and Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. Animals are raised humanely and free-ranged on pasture.

The farm raises a variety of chicken breeds including Ameraucana, Australorp, Barred Rocks, Black Star, Buff Brahma, Cukoo Marans, New Hampshire Red, and Rhode Island Red. They also raise Chocolate and Bourbon Red turkeys, with plans to expand the flock. The farm aims to strengthen the connection between producers and consumers to improve the quality of life for people and the community.
