About the Farm
Background
The farm began in 1994 as the first Certified Organic vegetable farm on Long Island’s North Fork. Founded by farmers Matt Kurek and Maggie Wood, it has grown to feed thousands of families through its CSA program. After 30 years on Long Island, the operation moved to southern Vermont in 2023, working with the Vermont Land Trust to preserve the farmland.
Practices
The farm employs a combination of innovative methods and ancient practices that honor the land. Committed to Organic and Regenerative farming, they focus on building and nourishing the soil for future generations. The farm is USDA-Certified Organic and places a strong emphasis on maintaining the agricultural heritage of their land through conservation easements.
The Rest
The farm acknowledges that it is situated on Abenaki land, one of the earliest known farm sites along the Connecticut River. They celebrate 30 years of organic farming and offer a variety of CSA shares including vegetables, fruits, and eggs.
