About the Farm
Background
The farm began its journey into homesteading in 2020, starting with chickens and expanding to include turkeys, ducks, and goats. The family lived in travel trailers until their house was completed in 2021. The farm was officially named R Corner Ranch L.L.C. in the summer of 2022, and it has been growing ever since.
Practices
The farm focuses on breeding Nigerian Dwarf and Nubian goats, with an emphasis on high production, butterfat percentage, and conformation. The goats are registered with the ADGA and MDGA, and the farm participates in milk testing and linear appraisals. The farm also breeds quality poultry, including Lavender Ameraucanas, Welsummers, Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, and Double Laced Barnevelders. They prioritize disease-free practices, with all goats over a year old tested negative for CAE and Johne’s.
The Rest
Raw goat milk is available for farm pick-up only, with prices at $6 per half gallon and $10 per gallon. Customers can bring their own sterilizable glass containers or purchase jars on the farm. The farm also plans to offer raw cream, soap, lotion, and guided goat and turkey walks. They maintain a small YouTube channel and are active on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
