About the Farm
Background
The project began as a homestead with the aim of living a simpler life. Over time, as the farm produced more than the family could consume, they started selling to neighbors, friends, and at markets. The farm has grown to include a variety of vegetables, fruits, and heritage breed animals.
Practices
The farm adheres to biodynamic rhythms and permaculture concepts, fostering diversity in plants, animals, and wildlife. They use no pesticides or herbicides, making it a no-spray farm. Animals are fed exclusively Organic-certified feed and are free-ranging, with no antibiotics used on any animals or bees. The farm grows exclusively non-GMO heirloom plants and integrates animals and vegetables to enhance soil life and microbial activity.
The Rest
The farm offers a local vegetable CSA with meat options as add-ons. The CSA is a collaboration between the farmer and the community, promoting seasonal eating and local food systems. The farm grows a wide variety of vegetables, including bok choi, fennel, leeks, tomatoes, spinach, and lettuce, among others. Each CSA box is designed to feed a family of 3-4 people or a couple who eats a lot of vegetables, featuring 5 to 9 different varieties of vegetables and herbs each week.
