About the Farm
Background
The farm's owners, originally from the Midwest, grew up farming but left agriculture to work as Department of Defense contractors. They married in 1994 and soon after bought their farm and first cows. Over the years, they transitioned from selling beef at local farmers' markets to focusing on live cattle sales. They operate a spring and fall herd on several owned and rented farms, raising Red Angus and Murray Greys.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing, a practice that involves moving cattle between pasture sections to manage grazing and improve pasture health. This method, rooted in ancient animal husbandry, has evolved with modern electric fence technologies, making it a practical and economical way to manage livestock. The farm prioritizes well-bred, well-managed, and well-handled cows.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of purchasing options, from small retail purchases to bulk buys, and provides free delivery in several towns. They guarantee customer satisfaction with an unconditional replacement or refund policy. The farm's cattle are easily identifiable as Red Angus, with some Murray Greys, in a region dominated by Black Angus.
