About the Farm
Background
Since 2011, the farm has established a welcome presence at local Farmers Markets and supplies many of the finest farm-to-table restaurants in the region. They purchase yearling cattle from proven source herds and have gained recognition for their high culinary standards. Their traditional artisanal methods represent only 2% of American beef production.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing on 100 acres of lush coastal pasture, allowing cattle to graze on high-diversity pasture, which enhances the meat's flavor and nutritional content. They avoid chemical inputs, relying on natural manure to build soil fertility and improve water-holding capacity. Free-ranged heritage hogs are contract grown at a friend's farm, where they roam 85 acres of woods, eat non-GMO whole grain rations, and develop mineral-rich flavor. Rare Silver Fox rabbits are raised in a pasture colony model, ensuring genetic diversity and high-quality meat.
The Rest
The farm's products are highly regarded by top chefs, including those from the Newport Restaurant Group. They offer selection packs of grass-fed beef for delivery within Rhode Island and ship outside the state for an additional fee. Their commitment to animal welfare and land stewardship is evident in their practices and the quality of their products.
