About the Farm

Background

Mon Soleil began as a small CSA in 2017 on a half acre of leased land in West Stafford, CT. Over the years, it has grown and evolved, now operating on two acres and offering a variety of CSA memberships. The farm has become known for its high-density, bio-diverse, and poison-free vegetable production. In 2024, Mon Soleil plans to support 50 CSA members, maintain a roadside farm stand, and focus more on seed saving production.

Practices

The growers at Mon Soleil incorporate biodynamic techniques, no-till practices, and avoid the use of petrochemicals. The farm operates on a human scale, meaning no tractors are used, and all vegetable production is managed by hand. They emphasize bio-intensive and integrated pest management systems to ensure the produce is nutritious and delicious. The farm also starts 95% of its plants from seed, ensuring control over the quality and health of their crops.

The Rest

Mon Soleil offers a Work Share Program where members can receive a discount on their CSA share by helping out at the garden weekly. The farm provides multiple pick-up options for CSA shares, including on-farm and farmer's market locations. Additionally, an online store is available for customers to purchase produce and arrange for convenient pick-up. The farm stand operates from May to early November, and members receive weekly seasonal herbs and occasional complementary flower bunches.
