About the Farm
Background
Started in 1992 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1995, the Martha Wagbo Farm and Education Center is situated on a 212-acre historical homestead in the Jordan River Valley. The organization is dedicated to engaging the public in peace and justice issues, teaching about the natural landscape, and promoting sustainable living.
Practices
The farm encompasses a diverse array of habitats including fields, marshes, beech-maple forest, and pine forest. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of farming practices, ecology, and human health by fostering a deep connection between people and the land.
The Rest
The farm is involved in a project to honor Ernest Hemingway with a sculpture titled 'The Young Boy and the Stream'. Various events are planned to support this initiative, including a garden party at the farm. The organization also collaborates with local groups and serves as a fiduciary for fundraising efforts.
