Living Against the Current

In 2006, the founders met and discovered their mutual desire to live a life connected to nature and away from societal norms. They married in 2008 during a canoe trip and moved to the countryside to raise their children. Their journey into beekeeping began as part of building a small homestead, and in 2018, they expanded by purchasing raw land in Northern Ontario to practice off-grid skills.

The apiary handles every step of the beekeeping process, from caring for the bees to harvesting and hand-processing the honey. Their bees are located in Dufferin County, Ontario, and their approach emphasizes resilience and practical skills in harmony with nature.

The farm offers seasonal raw honey in various forms, bee sales, hive hosting, and educational opportunities for aspiring beekeepers. Farm gate sales are available, and they maintain a blog to share their journey and practical skills with the community.
