About the Farm
Background
Established in 1941, this fourth-generation family farm and ranch is located three miles west of Americus, Kansas. Known for raising corn, soybeans, wheat, and primarily Angus cattle, the farm has been a staple in the Flint Hills region. In 2015, the business expanded to include Leffler Prime Performance, focusing on selling high-quality beef directly to consumers.
Practices
The farm raises Angus cattle, finishing them on a corn ration year-round, with grass-finished beef available in the fall. The cattle are processed at Allen Meat Processing in Allen, Kansas. This method ensures a consistent quality of beef, catering to different consumer preferences for corn-finished and grass-finished beef.
The Rest
The farm offers beef in quarter, half, and whole quantities, providing a direct connection between the rancher and the consumer. Additionally, the owner has a background in track and field, having competed at high levels and now offering private coaching in various throwing events. The farm maintains an active presence on social media and encourages potential customers to visit their website and Facebook page for more information.
