About the Farm
Background
Part of an environmental education non-profit, the farm operates on 6.5 acres of certified organic land. It sells produce and flowers through a 100-member CSA and the local Los Altos farmer's market, with 25% of produce donated to the Community Services Agency of Mountain View. Each season, a new crew of young farmers-in-training learns the skills needed to start their own small-scale farms.
Practices
The farm employs sustainable, organic practices that minimize outside inputs, promote biodiversity, honor labor, value animal welfare, and respect the capacity and wildness of the land. Regenerative agriculture principles guide their approach, ensuring the land remains productive and healthy.
The Rest
In addition to weekly bouquets through the CSA, the farm's farmer/florist offers design work for special events in the area and on the ranch. The farm produces mixed seasonal flowers and a wide variety of vegetables and fruits from May to December.
