About the Farm

Background

Happy Critters Farm, owned by Joe and Amanda Lambert, spans a 20-acre homestead in Mahtowa and 58 acres in Barnum, with additional rented properties. Known for their commitment to raising happy, healthy animals, the farm has recently expanded to include Spectrum Farm Strawberries, now known as Happy Critters Farm: The Berry Field, in Carlton, MN.

Practices

The farm employs rotational grazing for their pork and poultry, which receive non-GMO feed sourced from Minnesota farmers. Their beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. Emphasizing animal welfare, all animals are treated with care and respect, frequently moved to new pastures, and managed with low-stress practices. While not certified organic, the farm follows many organic practices and applies their knowledge of soil health and fertility to their strawberry production.

The Rest

Happy Critters Farm maintains an open-door policy, encouraging visitors to verify their food sources firsthand. They offer various purchasing options for their meat products and emphasize transparency in their farming methods. The farm is dedicated to healing the environment one bite at a time and invites the community to support local producers.
