About the Farm
Background
Located in East Fishkill, New York, this 270-acre farm has been in the Morgenthau family for over 100 years. Known for its apple orchards and vegetable farming, it offers a variety of produce through its farm store, CSA program, and several farmer's markets in the Hudson Valley and New York City. The farm has evolved to include pick-your-own operations and family-friendly outdoor activities, making it a staple in the local community.
Practices
The farm employs a commitment to ecological farming across all its crops. A third of their apples and all vegetables and berries are certified organic by NOFA-NY. The majority of apples and all stone fruits are eco-certified, utilizing a combination of low-spray and integrated pest management techniques. Pasture-raised chickens are fed a non-GMO, organic diet, contributing to the farm's holistic approach to sustainable agriculture.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy pick-your-own fruits, a farm store offering local foods, and a CSA program that has evolved into a 'Member's Choice CSA,' allowing members to choose their produce. Freshly pressed, preservative-free apple cider is available from Fall to Spring. Due to COVID-19, pick-your-own is by reservation only, which can be made on the farm's website.
