About the Farm
Background
Dick and Diana Dyer started the farm in 2009, inspired by Aldo Leopold's essay 'The Land Ethic' and their experiences at Goose Pond Sanctuary and the International Crane Foundation. Transitioning from careers in health care, they aimed to create a healthy community by growing healthy food. Despite a serious injury in 2016, they sold their garlic seed stock to local farmers but retained their 15-acre farm.
Practices
The farm follows organic farming principles, emphasizing the interconnectedness of soil, plants, and animals. They view the land as a community to be used with love and respect, aiming to nourish the soil and all critters within their stewardship.
The Rest
The farm sells garlic at local farmers markets, to chefs, and small food processors. They also offer green garlic, garlic scapes, garlic braids, chive blossom vinegar, and honey from their bee hives. Their vision statement, 'Shaping our future from the ground up,' reflects their commitment to the environment and community.
