About the Farm
Background
Jimmy and Katie, who met during Jimmy's service in the U.S. Air Force, started their family while in active duty. After ten years, they moved back to Nicholas County, Kentucky, to mature their farm. They have been raising Buelingo cattle since 2011 and have infused their herd with a Gelbvieh bull. They joined the Kentucky Proud Homegrown by Heroes program in 2014 and started an orchard with apple, peach, and pear trees in 2016.
Practices
The farm naturally produces heavy beef in the same amount of time as commercial companies with very little grain. They focus on providing fresh, natural food to people who cannot produce their own.
The Rest
The family breeds Champion Collies and Ragdolls, showing them across the country. They donate eligible cats and dogs to Wounded Warriors as service or therapeutic animals and commit up to 10% of their produce to the Lexington Veterans Home.
